BIODIVERSITY AND ECOSYSTEM SERVICES IN AGROECOSYSTEMS

We evaluate the relevance of animal biodiversity on ecosystem services (pollination, seed dispersal, pest control) within agroecosystems. We also study how management and landscape structure affect biodiversity within crops.

We address ecosystem services from a functional approach, seen as the result of trophic interactions between animals and plants.

We combine field monitoring and experiments with the molecular assesment of species and the structural analysis of interaction networks.

By identifying the drivers of biodiversity and the functional contribution to different sevices, we seek to develop measures of ecological intensification and land use involving farmers, adminisntrations, NGOs and civil society.
